The beauty of Lake Toba

LAKE TOBA is one largest lakes in the world, and the largest and most popular in Indonesia. Location of Lake Toba is in some districts, such as Simalungun districts, Naidoo districts, Tapanuli Utara districts, Humbang Hasundutan districts, Karo districts,and Dairi districts, North Sumatra,of Indonesia. Lake Toba is about 1700 square meters with a depth of about 450 meters. Located 906 meters above sea level.

The beauty of Lake Toba was amazing. The lake is surrounded by hills, so the atmosphere around the lake felt comfortable, the air fresh and cool. The visitors can enjoy its beauty with a swim or rent a motor boat, circled the lake. In the afternoon, visitors can enjoy a quieter atmosphere with stunning sunset that was so beautiful.

In the middle of the lake, a large island is Samosir Isalnd. Samosir Island is located at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level. Samosir Island is the object of popular natural attractions, the lake on the lake (Lake Sidihoni and Lake Aek Natonang), historical tourism objects in the tomb complex in the village of King Sidabutar Tomok, and tours of the complex architecture of traditional houses Batak Toba Samosir. To reach the tourist site, visitors can pass through the route of Medan to Parapat or through a route- Medan to Berastagi, a distance of about 176 km with about four hours with vehicles. Parapat is located about 185 kilometers away from the capital of North Sumatra. You can also use the bus or a tour to visit this lake.

Various inns and hotels are available at Parapat. Some hotels even provide facilities such as swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Many restaurants are established in this area. You also can try local food at the hotel or inn.
T-shirts, hats, key chains, and any other can be bought in Medan, Parapat, or at Samosir Island as souvenirs. You can buy typical handicrafts unique Batak ulos like a typical carvings, Batak calendar, traditional musical instruments, and so forth.
